The North Norfolk High Streets Matter Programme has been developed to deliver support for local projects, driving footfall and dwell time in town centres and improving resident and visitor experiences within retail and commercial centres in North Norfolk. It will involve working with local businesses and community organisations to identify and deliver projects that foster local economic growth and support the vitality of our towns.
Available in 2026 in Cromer, Wells-next-the-Sea, and Holt, this programme supports retailers with practical skills to strengthen their business.

A fund to create and deliver unique projects that celebrate local identity, engage communities, raise awareness of our high streets, and drive footfall.
Projects must deliver tangible, place‑based improvements with clear, lasting impact. Projects should introduce new ideas, concepts or events, or enhance existing ones, and demonstrate how activity can be sustained beyond the funding period.

This free programme for independent retailers is aimed at supporting their role as key players on the High Street. It includes five workshops on planning, financial literacy, pricing, marketing, merchandising, and customer service. The first 12 retailers to complete the course can apply for a grant of £1000 to support their new skills and to invest in their business.
