Statement from Cllr John Toye on the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Britain

Cllr John Toye, Armed Forces Champion, said:
"This 15th September marks the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Many will be aware of the Winston Churchill quote of 'Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few'; as we remember the momentous events that were between July and September 1940 we should reflect upon the freedoms and democracy that we enjoy and the sacrifice that delivered them.
We will remember them."
