North Norfolk District Council’s Revenues Team have won a national award. They faced some tough competition from other authorities but were announced as the the winners of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation 2024 Performance Awards Category ‘Revenues and / or Local Taxation Team of the Year (District).’

This was after demonstrating to the IRRV that the team were raising the standards of service to achieve high levels of performance, customer satisfaction and effective administrative procedures in revenues (Council tax, non-domestic rate, sundry debts etc.). Other key criteria met were excellence in delivery and a customer focused service.

Gary Watson, CEO of the IRRV, commented: “The IRRV Awards Panel were pleased to accept the recommendation of the Inspection Team that North Norfolk District Council were worthy winners in the category ‘Revenues and / or Local Taxation Team of the Year (District)’.

It was felt the team were very proactive and all get involved with new initiatives. In fact, many are suggested by the team and are owned by them. It was a highly empowered team, trusted by management to own their own initiatives.

They have a strong bond and are very passionate about what they do. They enjoy each other’s company, with many choosing to work in the office so they can work more closely together, share ideas, help each other and provide a better, more joined up, customer service.”

The team were also highly commended for the category ‘Most Improved Team of the Year.’
