Christmas trees

For garden bin subscribers, real Christmas trees can be placed in the garden bin – please remove all decorations. If your tree is over 6ft and you can do so safely, please cut it in half to make collection easier.

Trees can also be taken to household waste recycling centres (pre-booking is required), or some charities will collect your real Christmas tree for a donation. Pre-booking is required.

Recycling

Large cardboard boxes need to either be broken down into smaller pieces and placed in your recycling bin or taken to the household recycling centres. Please remove any tape and polystyrene and put this in your general waste bin.

Additional recycling can be placed alongside your recycling bin in clear plastic sacks – we can take a maximum of two extra bags

Electrical items - We can collect your used small electrical items as part of your bin collection service. Place in a small clear bag and put the bag on top of your waste or recycling bin.

Batteries - We can collect your used batteries as part of your bin collection service. Place in a small clear bag and put the bag on top of your waste or recycling bin.
