Council seeking views on Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) on dog restrictions for non-coastal public areas

Date published: 6th May 2025
North Norfolk District Council is currently conducting a public consultation on dog control orders in non-coastal public areas.
The Council is legally required to review each of the dog PSPOs every three years. In 2022, the current orders were re-introduced to restrict dogs from being present within certain public areas and requiring them to be on leads within certain public areas. The current orders expire on 11 June 2025 and the Council is considering extending them for a further three years.
The consultation is now open and will close on Wednesday, 30 April 2025. You can have your say and find out about the current orders in place here - Home | PSPOs on dog restrictions for non-coastal public areas
Cllr Callum Ringer portfolio holder for IT, Environmental and Waste Services, said:
“We would like to encourage residents to have their say and complete the consultation. Dogs are welcome in many places in North Norfolk, but it’s important we have rules in public spaces to ensure they are a place for all to enjoy.”
