A topping out ceremony was held at Albion Gardens, an assisted living facility in Stalham.

As an 'Extra Care' scheme, delivered by Housing 21, it offers independent living with on-site care.

Facilities at Albion Gardens include a café/ bistro, lounge, hair salon, and gardens. Couples can live together even if only one requires care and pets are welcome too.

They are designed for people aged 55 and over who would benefit from a level of care and support to live independently.

The scheme will consist of 61 modern, accessible apartments within easy distance of Stalham town centre.

Prospective residents can apply to live in Albion Gardens through North Norfolk District Council's housing register, 'Your Choice Your Home,' after having their care needs assessed by Norfolk County Council. Financial circumstances are also considered.

Cllr Jill Boyle, North Norfolk District Council  Portfolio Holder for Housing & Peoples Services commented: “I am delighted to see the progress being made with this development. It will be a great addition to the range and quality of housing for older people in North Norfolk, and a great boost for Stalham.”

The scheme is funded with grant from Homes England, NCC and NNDC and is due to open in Spring 2027.
