Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) provide financial support to help with rent or housing costs.
Before applying: check your property is in North Norfolk
We can only take applications from properties located in North Norfolk.
Eligibility
You can apply for a DHP if you currently claim either:

We will only award Discretionary Housing Benefits if we are satisfied that you need financial assistance to meet your housing costs. It cannot be awarded against services such as utility bills. Also, they are not designed to support unreasonably high rent charges.
Please note the money that the council can award each year comes directly from central government and is strictly limited.
What if I do not agree with the DHP decision?
You cannot formally appeal against our decision not to give a Discretionary Housing Payment. However, you can ask the council to review its decision if you write to us within one month of the date that we tell you that your claim has been refused.
