Apply for a Forget Me Not Grant

The grant is available to help pay for minor adaptions or equipment for people living with dementia or symptoms of dementia.

The Forget Me Not Grant is a county-wide initiative funded by contributions from all district councils within Norfolk. A grant of up to £500 can be awarded to pay for minor adaptions or equipment to promote the safety and independence of people living with dementia or symptoms of dementia.

Eligibility

People living with dementia or symptoms of dementia are eligible. A formal diagnosis is not required. We will not means test Forget Me Not grant applicants.

The Housing Adaptions Team Leader is responsible for considering grant requests. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. We would first need to consider if adaptions or equipment can be provided through existing equipment pathways as explained on our disability living equipment page.

Using the grant

Some examples of work considered include:

• installing water level detectors or safety cut-outs
• putting up signage on doors or noticeboards
• supplying memory aids such as dementia clocks
• changing lighting or flooring to be more suitable

Please tell us what difficulties the person with dementia or symptoms of dementia is experiencing, how providing adaptions or equipment is intended to help, and provide quotes if you have already identified something that may help them. The 'quote' can be as simple as a website link.
