Homelessness and rough sleeping strategy
The Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy document 2019 to 2024 is now available
Review of homelessness: have your say
We are currently carrying out a review of homelessness within the district. The review findings will be used to shape a new strategy, which we aim to publish in the autumn or winter of 2025.
The new Homelessness Strategy 2025-2030 will set the priorities for tackling homelessness in the district over the next five years. This cannot be delivered by the Council alone. Achievement will require collaborating with residents and public sector organisations at local and national levels, alongside private and voluntary sector partners.
If you would like to help shape future priorities or would like to share your views or experience, please get in touch by emailing yourvoice.housing@north-norfolk.gov.uk.
Introduction
The Homelessness Act 2002 Section 1(1) requires all Local Authorities to undertake a review of homelessness in their area and publish a Homelessness Strategy based upon the findings of the review every 5 years. North Norfolk District Council has undertaken reviews in 2003, 2008 and 2014 and 2019.
The strategy covers homelessness, homelessness prevention, and rough sleeping and seeks to deliver an enhanced housing options service, responds and relates to the Acts of Parliament and statutory guidance that set out the Governments intentions for protecting homeless people, preventing homelessness and ending rough sleeping.
Both the review and the development of the strategy were undertaken in consultation with key partners and stakeholders operating within the district.
